How to Get the Best Credit Card Offers

Good credit cards aren't that hard to come by nowadays, as long as you know what you're looking for! There are many credit card companies and financial institutions waving different credit cards in front of consumers, all equipped with VISA or MasterCard logos. There are rewards credit cards, airline credit cards, gas credit cards, no fee credit cards and even credit cards for people with poor credit! There seems as if there is a little bit of everything!

However, if you want to get a credit card that is perfect for your needs then you'll have to do your homework and look at your personal preferences and of course, your lifestyle. Here's a quick guide to getting the good credit card offers:

1. Start by asking yourself some questions dealing with your finances. Here are a few: What is your credit score? Do you like to pay your balance in full each month or do you prefer to let your balances roll over? Do you travel a lot? Where do you seem to spend your card the most?

2. Next, you'll have to examine in detail your buying habits. It is crucial that you know how and when you spend your money in order for you to apply online for a credit card that meets your needs. Here's how you can do this effectively:

  • Start at your bank. Pull all of your bank statements and see what your balances are and look at your expenses- fixed, optional and variable. Look at statements for the past year so you have a little bit of consistency.
  • Next, look at your old credit card statements. See how many open credit card accounts you currently have open and have had open in the past year. Also, look to see if you are a card holder who pays their full debt each month or not. Again, look for consistency!

The best way to accomplish this ‘research' phase of your credit card search is to simply get a pad of paper and a pen. Write everything down and maybe include some personal notes as well!

3. Time to examine! Now it is the time to pull all of your research material and match it up with a credit card that fits! Analyze your results. Are there any patterns or similar factors between all of your finances? Whether you have fair credit or excellent credit you should be able to find a card to fit your history of spending.

If you have a bad credit score, you may have to settle for a secured credit card, which is more of a debit card where you put money into an account and you can only spend up to that amount. This isn't necessarily a bad thing; it just means you've screwed up in the past. A secured credit card is a great budget tool and will put you on the right track!

If you happen to be a card holder who pays off their balance in full each pay period you may be interested in getting a rewards credit card. Since rewards credit cards come with higher APRs it isn't wise to get one of these cards unless you pay off your balance in full. Rewards cards can come in many different flavors and varieties such as airline miles credit cards and gasoline credit cards. These point rewards cards give you money/ rewards back for the money that you spend on daily purchases!

However, if you are an individual who usually takes their time paying off the whole credit card bill you may be better served to get a lower APR credit card. These cards will let you pay less overall for interest, which could save you literally hundreds of dollars!

There are so many choices when it comes to credit cards and which one is right for you. You should deliberate closely and compare the top credit cards as much as possible because the card that is right for you probably isn't right for your neighbor. Also, look for instant approval credit cards online, which will show you immediately whether you have qualified or met the creditor's standards!

There are so many opportunities to choose the best card for any certain person. I personally prefer rewards cards that allow me toprofit from my everyday purchases.
