How Can Credit Score Influence Credit Card Rules?

According to the latest news from the Senate, credit card issuers are going to alter their credit card rules and regulations in the customers' favor. Credit card companies have set up their own rules and policies to cardholders for years. However, the situation is now changing. Gradually, credit card issuers start refusing from their indecent practices that used to lead a lot of consumers to financial troubles. It's worth mentioning that it's not the initiative of lenders but the result of the pressure on the part of dissatisfied customers and lawmakers.

The number of consumers who have a low opinion of credit card deals is considerable. The fear lest they should fall into debt or a credit card trap, and become subject to credit card fraud that may cause a lot of financial problems. To some extent, they are right as very often credit card deals can turn a financial collapse.

However, the creditors' guilt in your financial troubles is quite doubtful, until credit companies resort to practices that raise interest rates. The matter is that a lot of cardholders were victims of indecent increases of their interest rates. That's why legislation was vital to settle this problem as some creditors are likely not to do this voluntarily.

There are a lot of thrilling stories of cardholders who suffered a tripling of their interest rates on account of their credit score drop. It's worth mentioning that all the consumers who were subject to the rise in their credit cards were quite conscientious and paid off on time.

The matter is that credit companies use all the data in your credit report for estimating your solvency. It's rather reasonable as a lender should realize all the possible risks. However, it becomes quite unpleasant when after using your plastic, you face colossal credit card rates.

In fact, cardholders just need the rules that are clear and transparent. The demand is fair as consumers must be in the know of all the issuer's practices before making a credit card deal. While some credit companies play fair and do not use such indecent credit practices like universal default, others resort to them and derive a lot of revenues from that.

In their turn, credit card companies declare that if they are forbidden to raise interest rates when credit scores change, they will find other methods of covering their losses. It means that if they don't increase the rates of those with a dropped credit score, they will boost the interest rates on credit cards of all consumers, or introduce certain credit card restrictions for some clients.

The majority of cardholders use their best credit cards for shopping. More and more merchants urge people to spend money at their shops, and making purchases with a plastic is most likely to undermine you financial well-being.

On the whole, only legislation can regulate all the activities and practices of credit card companies. You may either anticipate better credit card deals with clear and transparent rules, or face the considerable increase of your credit card rates regardless of your current credit score.
