Bad Credit is not the End of Your Life-Long Credit History08/02/2007 | Bad Credit History
It's been our common experience that bad credit can ruin you in the long run. There's a viewpoint from that people who file for bankruptcy are uneducated, lower class citizens from the baby boomer generation. But the truth comes like bankruptcy knows no classes and can affect anyone in any financial situation. Bankruptcy becomes a viable option for anyone who has incurred a level of debt that they simply cannot manage. Declaring bankruptcy is a great solution if you have looked into all of your other options. Although it may take a while to rebuild your credit, you are now free of your past debts. A lot of people seem to believe the myth that once you have bad credit, you will never have good credit again. It is not a process that happens overnight, but it is certainly can be repaired. Everyone's situation is different when seeking credit after declaring bankruptcy. Some may find that obtaining credit is much harder whereas others find it easier because they have cleared themselves of their previous debt. If you have filed a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, obtaining credit might become easier. With this type of bankruptcy, you have proven that you want to repay as much of your debt as you can. Someone who files for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy may have a harder time because it looks as though you have made no effort to repay your debts. Thankfully, there is a law in place that prohibits your employer from firing you just because you have declared bankruptcy. You will most likely be able to reestablish your credit at this point. A secured credit card is a great way to go about doing so. This simply means that you deposit a figure and are just borrowing from that along the way. If you have good repayment histories, then it will boost your credit rating. However keep in mind that your actions with these cards will pave the way for your own financial future. If you are smart with your decisions now, it will be much easier to obtain a credit card on your own down the line. You are still eligible to get loans but your interest rate will most likely be much higher than that of an average person. Copyright © 2007-2008 www.unioncreditreport.com. All rights reserved.
